In commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia, Chairperson of the West Kalimantan Family Welfare Empowerment Team (TP PKK), Dr. Hj. Erlina Ria Norsan, S.H., M.H., expressed her appreciation for sanitation workers who have contributed to maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of Pontianak City.
The appreciation was demonstrated through the distribution of essential food packages to 100 street sanitation workers during a social activity held at the West Kalimantan TP PKK Secretariat on Tuesday (August 18, 2026).
Erlina Norsan said the initiative was a gesture of appreciation for the dedication and hard work of sanitation workers who carry out their duties every day to keep the city clean, orderly, and comfortable for the public.
“The presence of sanitation workers is vital to creating an urban environment that is clean, green, comfortable, and pleasant. Therefore, as we commemorate Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day, we would like to express our appreciation and share with those who have carried out their duties with great dedication,” Erlina said.
During the event, Erlina also emphasized that the West Kalimantan TP PKK Secretariat is open to members of the public seeking information, consultation, or assistance within the scope of the organization’s programs and responsibilities.
“I would like to emphasize that the West Kalimantan PKK office is open to people who wish to seek consultation or convey their aspirations. For example, Working Group I provides consultation and information on legal issues, while Working Group IV provides health education and counseling,” she explained.
In addition to providing services to the community, the West Kalimantan TP PKK regularly conducts guidance and assistance programs for TP PKK organizations across all 14 regencies and cities in the province. These efforts are intended to align programs and strengthen the PKK’s role in improving community welfare.
“The West Kalimantan TP PKK routinely provides guidance and assistance to TP PKK organizations in all 14 regencies and cities across West Kalimantan. This is aimed at aligning our programs while strengthening the PKK’s role in improving community welfare,” she added.
Erlina emphasized that social initiatives are part of the West Kalimantan TP PKK’s commitment to maintaining a meaningful presence within the community. She said the spirit of service and social responsibility should extend beyond Independence Day commemorations and be reflected continuously through activities that provide tangible benefits to the public.
“We must continue to uphold the spirit of togetherness and social responsibility. Let us give meaning to our independence by remaining productive, maintaining our health, working diligently, and caring for one another,” she said.
The distribution of assistance took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere, reflecting the West Kalimantan TP PKK’s appreciation for sanitation workers and their contribution to keeping Pontianak clean, attractive, and comfortable.
